Royal Challengers Bangalore are one of the three franchises in the Indian Premier League who have not won the title since the inaugural edition. They made it to the final on three occasions but lost all the three finals against Chennai Super Kings, Deccan Chargers and Sunrisers Hyderabad.

RCB captain Virat Kohli tried his maximum best to instill confidence into his teammates but there hasn’t been any turnaround so far. Under Kohli’s tutelage, RCB reached the final in 2016 season but lost to David Warner’s Sunrisers Hyderabad in the final.

Talking about their performance in the last season, they were pretty decent as they made it to the playoffs by pipping Kolkata Knight Riders in terms of Net Run Rate. While there was a chance for RCB to make a bid for the title, they were knocked out by Sunrisers in the Eliminator.

South Africa’s experienced campaigner Dale Steyn failed to perform in the 13th IPL season at the UAE. The likes of Mohammed Siraj and Navdeep Saini got a chance to share the dressing room with Steyn. More importantly, Siraj took some tips from South African star about bowling out-swingers.

Steyn who played just 3 games in the last season managed to pick up just 1 wicket. Sadly, RCB fans will not see him in action for the next season as the pacer himself confirmed that he will miss the upcoming edition. He himself clarified the news on his official Twitter handle.

5. Kane Richardson

Virat Kohli-led RCB roped in The Royal Challengers Bangalore had signed Australia’s young promising fast bowler Kane Richardsonin IPL 2020 auction. Needless to say, the pacer backed out of the whole tournament citing personal reasons.

Richardson would a great asset to the team as he can bowl fast and also get the ball to move around. In his absence, Australia’s Adam Zampa took his place in the Royal Challengers Bangalore squad. Since RCB roped in Richardson in IPL 2020, they surely had interest in him. This is why RCB could possibly get his signature in IPL Auction 2021.

4. Mitchell Starc

Australian speedster Mitchell Starc is one of the best fast bowlers in the world. The left-arm pacer will most probably make a comeback to the IPL in 2021. He is one of the most sought-after players in the franchise cricket.

The left-arm pacer is known for bowling yorkers and deceive the batsmen with tricky deliveries. The two-time IPL champions, Kolkata Knight Riders roped him in 2018. Sadly, he couldn’t represent the team due to injury problems. He had early plies his trade for RCB and hence RCB could sign him after the veteran pacer’s exit.



3. Shanthakumaran Sreesanth

The pacer was named in Kerala probables for upcoming Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and will be making a comeback to competitive cricket after quite a long time. He was part of the Indian team that won 2 World Cups namely ICC T20 World Cup 2007, ICC ODI WorldCup 2011.

His experience as a bowler in IPL is pretty awesome. He represented Kings XI Punjab, Rajasthan Royals, and the Kochi Tuskers Kerala in IPL.

2. Kyle Jamieson

Jamieson made an immediate impact to the game ever since bursting onto international team. He played a substantial role in the just-concluded Test series against Pakistan where he took 5 wickets in the first Test and a record 11 wickets in the second Test.

The lanky pacer who made a debut against India last year has no experience of playing in the IPL. However, the youngster will look forward to playing the cash-rich league soon in the future. RCB team management could rope him in the next auction.

His record in T20s is quite impressive considering the manner in which he took 49 wickets in 33 T20 games. He recorded 6/7 which is his best bowling figures in the shortest format.

1. Mustafizur Rahman

Mustafizur Rahman is also the most sought-after players in the franchise cricket all over the world. He had earlier represented Sunrisers Hyderabad in the lucrative Indian Premier League. However, he is not involved in the IPL now.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board denied him a No Objection Certificate which means he cannot take part in the other franchise cricket leagues. He has a terrific record in the IPL. With Mustafizur still in demand considering that multiple IPL franchises are keen to sign him for the next season, he might well get a NOC to play in the league again.

His record in IPL speaks huge volumes. The left-arm pacer won the Emerging Player of the Season Award in the tournament.
