Parthiv Patel is the senior wicket-keeper among the active wicket-keepers in the Indian team. The left-handed batsman made his International debut in 2002 in the ODI game against New Zealand. During the same year, he made his Test debut against England.

The Indian wicket-keeper was the youngest wicket-keeper batsman to make Test debut, at the age of 19. In this long span of time, he failed to have a bright career. He scored 934 runs from the 25 Tests he played and 736 runs in the 38 ODIs played. Since the debut of MS Dhoni, Parthiv Patel was less seen in Indian clothes.

The left-handed batsman lastly played a Test match in 2018 in South Africa and his last ODI appearance was in 2011 against England. Now the left-handed wicket-keeper batsman has a very tiny chance to appear in Indian clothes again as there are young wicket-keepers like Rishabh Pant, Ishan Kishan, Sanju Samson are around the team now.
