Barishal vs Rajshahi NCL game ends in four sessions

Spinners have taken 26 out of 30 wickets in the Tier-2 NCL (National Cricket League) match between Barishal Division and Rajshahi Division at BKSP ground 4, Savar.

The second round game lasted only 112.2 overs, meaning it did not even go to the second session of day two.

Barishal Division have made sub-100 scores twice in this match – 82 in 29.3 overs in the first innings and 60 in 34 overs in the second. In between, Rajshahi Division recovered from 86/8 to make 151 in their first innings total which eventually proved to be enough for an innings win.

Rajshahi’s Sunzamul Islam took sensational figures of 10/33 in the match (4/18 and 6/15). Although Taijul Islam was awarded the player of the match for his rare all-round show of 37 with the bat and eight wickets in the match.

While none of the Barishal batsmen made 20 or more in the first innings, Moinul Islam remained top-scorer with 81-ball 28 in his team’s mere 60.

Barishal started the day on 23/1 after conceding a 69-run first innings lead and lost their last nine wickets for 26 runs in the morning.

Rajshahi now have 11 points, 9.5 from this match, after bouncing back from round one defeat to Chattogram Division last week.
