Bravo drops an easy catch; Gabriel uses a swear word

West Indies are still searching for their maiden victory over New Zealand in the ongoing tour. The Caribbeans arrived in New Zealand to play three T20Is and two Tests. The three-match T20I series has been done and dusted.

The hosts comfortably won the first two games and won the series by 2-0. While they had a perfect chance to whitewash the visitors in the third game, rain played spoilsport as the game was abandoned. Both teams are currently playing the Test series.

New Zealand won the first Test by an innings and 134 runs at Seddon Park in Hamilton. The second match is currently being held at Basin Reserve, Wellington. West Indies won the toss and opted to bowl first. Kiwis scored 294/6 in 84 overs at the end of Day 1. Henry Nicholls scored a brilliant century as he is batting on 117 including 15 fours and a six.

Will Young scored 43 with the help of 4 fours and Daryl Mitchell scored 42 including 5 fours. Batling looked good for his 30 including 5 fours to his name. Shanon Gabriel picked 3 wickets whereas Chemar Holder picked 2 wickets to his credit.

Gabriel loses his cool:

During New Zealand’s batting, Tom Latham was dismissed on 27 by Chemar. Gabriel played an important role in ruining Kiwis’ batting line-up as he dismissed the likes of Tom Blundell, Ross Taylor and New Zealand were reeling at 78 for the loss of 3 wickets.

However, Will Young and Henry Nicholls showed some defiance by adding 70-run stand for the fourth wicket before Young was dismissed by Gabriel himself on 43. However, Nicholls went about his business. During the game, luckily, Nicholls was dropped thrice.

Nicholls made most of the chances to better effect by converting his small knock to a sensational hundred. During the game, Gabriel bowled a superb delivery that saw Nicholls getting an inside edge. The ball travelled straight to Darren where he was positioned at the first slip.

Though it was a simple and regulation catch, Darren Bravo failed to grab it in both hands. Gabriel was confident that Bravo would take the catch but he messed it up completely. After dropping a sitter, Gabriel lost his cool as he was absolutely livid with his teammate. He was also caught using a swear word.
