Chahar and several others at CSK test COVID-19 positive
India’s right arm medium pace bowler Deepak Chahar was the first male cricketer to take a hat-trick in the T20I International.
Sadly, he became the first Indian Premier League (IPL) player to be found corona positive in the UAE.
According to the sources in the UAE, the 28-year-old Chahar is one among the few other 11 members of the touring party infected.
Chahar’s sister, Malati, when contacted did not want to offer comments and player’s father Lokendra Singh Chahar, a retired army officer did not respond to the repeated calls.
The CSK team management is yet to announce the list, which is likely to be announced any time soon, but it is understood that the top Chennai Super Kings (CSK) team officials and his wife are also affected. One member, handing the team’s social media activities like twitter and instagram accounts, and net bowlers are also found positive.
The players have been instructed not to reveal the names of the corona affected people. A member of the squad, who traveled to Chennai in a plane (Delhi-Ranchi-Chennai) confirmed this development.
Surprisingly, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) or the CSK team management have not issued any statement yet.
