Himanshu had great contributions behind his sons’ becoming of what they are today. Once he was running a small car finance business in Surat but he shut it down and moved to Vadodara to help his sons get better access to training facilities.

And not just that; he then also enrolled both Hardik and Krunal in former India wicketkeeper Kiran More’s cricket academy in Vadodara from where the two brothers began to garner wider attention.

Krunal, who was captaining Baroda in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021, has left the bio-bubble in Vadodara to be with his family to mourn the passing of his father.

“Yes, Krunal Pandya has left the bubble. It is a personal tragedy, Baroda Cricket Association mourns this loss of Hardik and Krunal,” BCA Cricket Association CEO Shishir Hattangadi said.

Baroda are in Elite Group C of the tournament, and also leading the group. They have so far won in all three of their matches, picking up victories over Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh.

So far Krunal has picked up four wickets in 12 overs and also scored 77 runs, with 76 of those coming in the first match against Uttarakhand.

Meanwhile, Hardik chose to skip the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy as he had begun preparations for the limited-overs series against England.

Hardik and his wife Natasa Stankovic welcomed a baby boy in August 2020. The star couple named their son Agastya.
