Inzamam makes explosive remarks about Indian cricketers

The duality between Pakistan and India is always there, be it in politics or cricket. In that atmosphere, former Pakistan cricketer Inzamam-ul-Haq makes blunt remarks about Indian cricketers.

According to this Pakistani legend, Pakistani cricketers play for the team but Indians play for themselves. Such a comment has been made by Inzamam.

In a video on YouTube, Inzamam said in an interview with former Pakistan captain Rameez Raja,

“When we played against India, their batting on paper was stronger than ours. But if our batsmen could score 30-40 runs, it would be for the team. And, even if someone in India scored a century, he would play it for himself. That was the difference between the two teams.”

Inzamam made his ODI debut in 1991. He made his Test debut the following year. He played international cricket till 2007. During this period, batsmen like Mohammad Azharuddin, Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid, VVS Laxman, Virender Sehwag, Yuvraj Singh have played for Team India.

Inzamam, who has played 120 Tests, 378 ODIs and one T20I, said the Indian cricketers were all self-conscious. They played to increase their runs. They didn’t think about the team. Inzamam’s remarks naturally sparked controversy. Cricket fans have strongly criticized the former Pakistan captain’s remarks.
