Jofra Archer reveals reasons why he likes white ball cricket more

Veteran English paceman Jofra Archer has revealed that he is more comfortable and confident about the shortest formats of the game than the aesthetic longer version. He believes that the shortest formats suits him more as he is comfortable of reading the strategy of the batsman in the shortest formats and a longer perception in the Test format.

Archer was typically explosive with his lethal pace in the home series against West indies . But his performance has been heavily criticized in the home series against Pakistan. Archer played two out of the three Tests against Pakistan and picked only four wickets.

Meanwhile, Archer is desperately waiting to play in the upcoming series against Australia in the short format. He has played in the coloured Jersey for England during the 2019 ODI World Cup final at Lord’s for the last time . The veteran pacer hopes to pick more wickets in the upcoming series as he believes the white ball format suits him more than the red ball.

“We finish the summer with two series against Australia, starting next week, and hopefully the change of formats will coincide with me taking some wickets,” Archer wrote in his column for the Daily Mail.

“Partly due to my elbow injury last winter and partly due to being rested, I have not played a limited-overs match for England since last year’s World Cup final.

“In some ways, white-ball cricket suits me more because I find that batters have to come at me — and I am all for the opportunity to get them out. I view it as a less batter-friendly version of cricket because of the onus on them to go harder, score quicker. Conversely, it is a lot harder to go wicketless for a bowler.”
