Kohli condemns racial abuse at SCG

Indian skipper Virat Kohli condemned the racial abuses on Indian players in the ongoing Test at Sydney Cricket Ground.

A big controversy has risen around the ongoing third Test between Australia and India. Indian players, especially the fast bowler Mohammed Siraj is said to be racially abused by the Australian fans.

After the stumps on day three, BCCI revealed that Indian fast bowlers Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj were racially abused by Australian crowds. Later it is confirmed that BCCI officially lodged complaints to the match officials after abusing Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah.

But the issue continued on day four too as Indian fast bowler Mohammed Siraj was again abused by the Aussie fans when he was fielding at the boundary line in fine-leg position. After taking the issue to match officials on the spot, the play was halted for a while in the second session.

Finally, with the aid of security officials, six men who were in a stand at Randwick End were asked to leave the ground immediately and the six men did so. The incident is getting more criticism towards Australian cricket and their fans.

Now the Indian skipper Virat Kohli condemned the disgraceful act by the Aussie fans towards the visitors. The Indian skipper termed the incident as rowdy behavior from Australian fans. He also urged to take strict actions on the people who were involved in this.

“Racial abuse is absolutely unacceptable. Having gone through many incidents of really pathetic things said on the boundary Iines, this is the absolute peak of rowdy behavior. It’s sad to see this happen on the field. The incident needs to be looked at with absolute urgency and seriousness and strict action against the offenders should set things straight for once,” Virat Kohli tweeted.
