Hello and welcome to Sydney Cricket Ground, Sydney, for the 3rd Test Day 3 between Australia and India.

Rohit Sharma has replaced Mayank Agarwal as an opener in the India team for the third Test against Australia underway at the Sydney Cricket Ground from Thursday. Rohit will open the innings alongside Shubman Gill.

Meanwhile, right-arm pacer Navdeep Saini will make his Test debut as he replaces injured Umesh Yadav, who has returned to India after suffering a calf muscle injury during the second Test in Melbourne which India won eight wickets.

Saini, 28, has so far played seven ODIs and 10 T20Is for India.

Rohit missed the first two Tests of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy as he was serving his quarantine period in Sydney. He had arrived late in Australia because of a hamstring injury he sustained in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

The series is currently tied at 1-1, with Australia winning the first Test in Adelaide while India registering a win in the second in Melbourne.

India was 96 for two at stumps on day two, trailing Australia by 242 runs in the third Test at Sydney Cricket Ground on Friday. Cheteshwar Pujara and skipper Ajinkya Rahane were batting 9 and 5 respectively at the close of play.

India made a solid start with Rohit Sharma (26) and Shubman Gill (50) stitching a 70-run opening stand. Gill went on to score his maiden half-century. Australia rode on Steve Smith’s gritty 131-run knock and half-centuries by debutant Will Pucovski (62) and Marnus Labuschagne (91) to come up with their strongest batting performance of the ongoing series. Australia scored 338 runs in its first innings as Ravindra Jadeja picked 4 wickets while Bumrah and Saini took two wickets.

The exclusive Australian broadcaster for this Test series is Fox Sports, and the match starts on Saturday, January 26 at 10.30 am AEDT local time.

Alongside Fox, your other option is to sign up for the fast-emerging Kayo Sports streaming service, which features no lock-in contracts and gives you access to over 50 other sports, including the F1, NRL, FA Cup football… the list goes on! Handy if you don’t want to go all out on Fox.

How to watch Australia play cricket in the UK

While Sky Sports has the rights to England’s current South Africa tour, BT Sport has exclusive rights to India’s tour of Australia.

BT Sport is available to both BT TV customers (from £10 a month on contract), and can be added on by Sky, Virgin Media, and TalkTalk subscribers.

Because of the time difference, BT’s coverage starts late Christmas Day on Friday, February 25, and is scheduled to roll into the early hours of Saturday morning. Similar times are scheduled for all five days, but check your local TV listings if you want to be sure, as a sport has had its fair share of last-minute changes in 2020!

If you don’t want to be locked into a lengthy (and, when all’s said and done) pricey contract, BT Sport also now offers the option of a Monthly Pass.

Sky generally enjoys the rights to live cricket coverage in NZ, and this series is no different, with the country’s version of Sky Sports airing India vs Australia.

The first balls of each day’s India vs Australia Test action are scheduled to be bowled at around 11.30 am NZDT from Saturday, January 26 to Wednesday, January 30.
