The 33-year-old will fly to Australia on December 13 and is likely to take part in the last two Tests. Rohit’s inclusion is a major boost to Team India for the Test series. On the other hand, David Warner will miss the Test opener against India due to a groin injury he sustained in ODI series.

Warner is aiming to make a comeback to the second Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on December 26. Will Puckovski sustained a mild concussion after picking up a blow to his helmet off Kartik Tyagi’s bouncer. Cameron Green also sustained a concussion during the second practise match against India.

Sanjay Manjrekar picks his wicket-keeper for India:

Former Indian commentator Manjrekar has now picked his wicket-keeper for India for the first Test match against Australia. While the choice is between Rishabh Pant and Wriddhiman Saha, the Indian team management is having a tough time in selecting the right wicket-keeper.

While the fans and experts are figuring out the best first-choice wicketkeeper for the first Test, Manjrekar disclosed his pick. A Twitter user had asked about his choice, Manjrekar preferred Saha to Pant.

“Who should be India’s first-choice wicketkeeper for the 1st Test against Australia? Rishabh Pant or Wriddhiman Saha?,” a user wrote.

The commentator added that the wicketkeeper should be picked on the basis of their wicketkeeping potential in Tests. In this case, Saha is the first priority.

“In Tests always keeping skills first. Drop a Steve Smith early and he gets a 200! So Saha. Also need a better keeper against pace in Australia. Again Saha.”
