Mashrafe to stand beside 1200 families with his own financing
Demand for foods and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) have increased rapidly in Bangladesh due to coronavirus terror. But there is no supply according to the demand in the country. As a result, doctors are serving patients at risk of life. In this time of crisis, former Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza has brought his helping hands for the people of the country.
Narail-2 constituency Mashrafe Bin Mortaza is preparing to provide food assistance to 1200 poor families with his earning money from cricket during the crisis caused by the coronavirus. From Thursday afternoon, food shopping and packeting began.
Food support includes 5 kg of rice, 1 liter of oil, 1 kg of pulses, potatoes and salt and a soap.
Former president of Narail district Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), Soumen Bose, said,
“Food assistance will be provided to 1200 low-income families in Sadar and Lohagara upazilas. Now the work of making list is going on. Food assistance will be provided at home in times of crisis.”
He also said that Mashrafe, with his own funds, has arranged for 200 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for doctors, nurses and media workers at the initial stage and that another 300 PPE will be arranged.
Coronavirus has been found in the bodies of 44 people in Bangladesh so far, of which 5 have died. The number of normal patients is also decreasing in Narail hospitals due to the panic created by coronavirus. Physicians are also concerned about the need for proper materials.
