Modi seeks help from Indian cricketers to fight coronavirus
The whole world has been plagued by the coronavirus epidemic. Apart from the stagnation of public life, the sports world is also suspended. India has locked down the entire country to avoid COVID-19. This time, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given a five-point principle to stop coronavirus.
Modi joined a video call with India’s top sports personalities on Friday (April 3th) to spread a positive outlook among the people during this time of national lockdown. At that time, he urged the spread of five principles – determination, moderation, positivity, respect and cooperation among all – to prevent COVID-19.
Prime Minister Modi said that sports persons brought glory to the country and they played a vital role in promoting positivity and morality among the nation. According to the Prime Minister’s Office, India’s English media ‘India Today’ added that sports figures thanked Prime Minister Modi for deploying self-employed health workers and police from the front.
In the discussion, everyone talked about the importance of discipline, mental strength, fitness and the steps to protect it. They hope to win this fight by becoming one like Team India.
In a video call, table tennis star Sharath Kamal Achanta said that Modi had drawn Virat Kohli’s reference in fighting mentality. He said,
“The Prime Minister told us to spread awareness about social distance and hygiene. In order to win this fight, we have to show a fighting spirit like Virat (Kohli).”
