Moeen Ali stops playing at Gaddafi Stadium upon hearing Azan
Englishman Moeen Ali was training in the nets ahead of his side’s season-opener against Lahore Qalandars on Friday at the Gadaffi Stadium. The England allrounder is all set to feature for the Multan Sultans in the 5th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), which started on Thursday.
The Multan Sultans will kick off their PSL 5 campaign against Lahore Qalandars at the Gadaffi Stadium. While Quetta Gladiators and Islamabad United had locked horns at the National Stadium downunder, both the Qalandars and Sultans players took to the field in Lahore to warm up their legs.
Moeen Ali was among the players practicing with both bat and ball at the Lahore venue. The Englishman famously stopped playing right when he heard the Azan sounding across the arena.

South African six hitter Rilee Rossouw can also be seen in the video, practicing with the blade ahead of a crunch opening game against the Qalandars on Friday. The Sultans players looked energetic, as can be seen in the video. Sultans’ emerging bowlers including Mohammad Ilyas can also be noticed bowling to Rossow. Meanwhile, Imran Tahir caught Rossouw stumped after the batsman attempted to jump down and launch his compatriot over the Javed Miandad stand. Shahid Afridi can also be seen gearing up to do some batting practice.
It is to be known that the Lahore Qalandars and Multan Sultans will lock horns at the same venue later today as part of a double header. The first game of the day will be played between Karachi Kings and former Champions Peshawar Zalmi at the National Stadium, Karachi.
