Mrittunjoy ruled out of the one-day tournament
Bangladesh U-19 fast bowler Mrittunjoy Chowdhury has been ruled out of the one-day tournament which begins from October 11.
Injuries keep hurting the young fast bowler Mrittunjoy Chowdhury as he faces yet another setback. He was set to play in the upcoming one-day tournament after he was included in Mahmudullah XI squad. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) selector Minhajul Abedin Nannu confirmed it on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the selector has also informed that Abu Haider Rony will replace the young fast bowler. Earlier he was in the squad as a stand-by.
“Mrittunjoy can not play in the one-day tournament due to back injury. He can not play before 1st November. We have picked Abu Haider Rony as his replacement. He was in the squad as a standby earlier,” Nannu told Cricfrenzy.
Meanwhile, the fast bowler is hopeful of recovering from injury within November so that he can play in the domestic T20 league.
“I will not be able to play in the one-day tournament. I could not recover from the back injury yet. I am hopeful that I can return and play in the domestic T20 league,” he said.
The back injury has been troubling Mrittunjoy for the past seven months. Earlier, he had to return from South Africa in the middle of the World Cup due to the same injury.
