Beximco Dhaka captain Mushfiqur Rahim is hopeful his men will turn up better in their next outing against Chattogram.
Dhaka succumbed a narrow 2-run defeat against Minister Group Rajshahi in the opening match of Bangabandhu T20 Cup 2020. Muktar Ali’s last blast of 27* runs could not rescue Dhaka.

Mushfiqur top-scored for Dhaka with 41 runs. Akbar Ali made impressive 34 runs. Naim Sheikh threw away a good start scoring 26 runs. Dhaka skipper would have liked a bigger total from the batsmen.
“Look, it’s difficult to judge on the first game. I think the start was good. It’s very difficult to win a T20 match if batsmen score 30-40 runs only. Had one of the set batsmen scored 60 or 70-plus, the match would have been in our hands,” Mushfiqur said at the post-match press conference.
“I’m really happy everyone got good starts. It’s really a good sign that everyone is in good touch. I hope the in-form batsmen can make big scores in the next match.”
Dhaka bowlers made a good impact with the ball in first half of Rajshahi’s innings. The latter half went for plenty which set Rajshahi’s total to 169/9. Mushfiqur expects a better execution in the next game against Gazi Group Chattogram.
“As far as bowling is concerned, the execution was a bit here and there. I guess this is because of the nerves or lack of confidence in the first match. This can happen to any team – experienced or inexperienced. We will try not to commit mistakes in the next match,” Mushfiqur added.
