Nagarkoti’s spectacular diving catch leaves Jofra Archer stunned
During the IPL game between Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders in Wednesday’s encounter, Kamlesh Nagarkoti pulled off a scintillating running catch to dismiss Jofra Archer. The England fast bowler tried to smash a good length delivery over Chakravarthy’s head for a huge six but the ball didn’t travel far as it went high up in the air.
Meanwhile, Kamlesh Nagarkoti charged in from long-on region and then dived to perfection to take a stellar running catch. Rajasthan Royals lost the game by 37 runs. Playing his first season with Kolkata Knight Riders, Nagarkoti picked two wickets to his name in four overs.
Before getting rid of Jofra Archer, he dismissed the dangerous Robin Uthappa off the first ball of the seventh over. At the post-match presentation, Kamlesh Nagarkoti thanked his family, KKR support staff and others who stood by him. He went on to thank Rahul Dravid as well.
“The situation was a bit in our favour when I came to bowl. Just wanted to keep my plans simple and execute them. I want to thank my family, the KKR support staff and everyone else who have stood by me. Many people like my family, Dravid Sir, Abhishek (Nayar) bhaiyya. There have been so many people to thank. It’s a nice experience to learn from Pat Cummins who is a really good bowler. I try to execute what I learn from him,” Kamlesh Nagarkoti said after the game.

“Wouldn’t call it a perfect game. Lot of areas we need to improve. The way Gill batted, Mavi bowled, Russell batted. Also the youngsters going after the high catches. Archer bowled really well. Wasn’t that easy a wicket to bat on. Couple of guys made it look better than it was. These boys, the journey they’ve been through when they’re not playing, is a hard one. Putting runs on the board is what we thought was the best way to go forward on this ground,” KKR captain Dinesh Karthik said at the post-match presentation.
