Pant after shocking defeat against RR

Delhi Capitals (DC) captain Rishabh Pant thinks that they could’ve bowled better at death overs after their shocking loss against Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 3 wickets on Thursday in Mumbai in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL).

Rajasthan were at vulnerable position after they lost all their top batsmen inside 10 overs and they were at 42-5 at one stage of the match. After that, two Proteas- David Miller (62 runs off 43 balls) and Chris Morris (36* runs off 18 balls) put on a terrific show to secure a memorable win for Rajasthan. They scored 58 runs in the last 5 overs to finish the match for their team.

Pant also said that dew played a big factor in the second innings which made batting easier for Rajasthan. “The bowlers did a good job at the start, but we let them get over us in the end. We could have bowled a bit better. It’s part and parcel of the game and dew played a big role in the end. We were 15-20 runs short. But at least there is something to gain from this match, the bowlers did a great job at the start,” said Pant.

“Hopefully if something like this happens, we can pull it off. In the second innings, there was much more dew, so the slower ball wasn’t stopping. So, we had to do something in the second innings,” he added.

Delhi will face Punjab Kings in their next match on April 18 at the same venue.
