Pathan picks ‘Farewell XI’ for recently retired India cricketers
Former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan has suggested an interesting idea to bid a farewell to them who has never got proper ending to their India national team career.
He’s proposed a ‘farewell game’ consisting of those distinguished retired players against the current Virat Kohli-led India team.
There’s been a huge discussion ongoing about the farewell match of recently-retired former India captain MS Dhoni and batsman Suresh Raina. So, Pathan has added an idea in it and said it will be great if the likes of Gautam Gambhir, Virender Sehwag, Rahul Dravid, VVS Laxman, Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina, Dhoni, Ajit Agarkar (retired in 2007) play a ‘farewell game’ against the current team.
Apart from these players, the other three players of Pathan’s XI are- Pathan himself, Pragyan Ojha and Zaheer Khan.
“Many people are talking about a farewell game for retired players who didn’t get a proper send-off from the game. How about a charity cum farewell game from a team consisting of retired players vs the current Indian team?” Pathan tweeted regarding the idea.
