Shakib Al Hasan to play in Lankan Premier League
Bangladeshi all rounder Shakib Al Hasan is all set play in Lankan Premier League (LPL) acter his rehabilitation period ends in October accroding to some media reports. The official punishment tenure will end in October and the schedule of the LPL will be ongoing at that time. Therefore, it will be easy for the Bangladesh all rounder to resume cricket immediately.
Although, the Sri Lankan premier League was scheduled to play a couple of weeks ago , but the tournament didn’t saw the light of happening for various reasons. Therefore, Sri Lanka Cricket-SLC is organizing another franchise tournament called LPL in a new venture. A multiple class players around the cricketing world will participate in the tournament.
About 30 foreign cricketers will take part in the tournament accronding to some media reports. Players like AB de Villiers, Eoin Morgan, Yuvraj Singh, Sunil Narine, Irfan Pathan, Chris Gayle, Alex Hales, Shane Watson, Shoaib Malik, Shahid Afridi will take part in the tournament.
A total of six teams will take part in the tournament. Although the schedule of the tournament has not been finalized yet, but the SLC has planned to organize the tournament from 26th August to 20th September. But as the Indian premier League will be on the field at the same time, the tournament will take place the end of the Indian Premier League (IPL) and November window could be the suitable time for the franchise league.
