SRH rope in Roy to replace Marsh

England right-handed batsman Jason Roy has been added to the Sunrisers Hyderabad squad as a replacement for Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh.

This year’s edition of the Indian Premier League is around the corner with nearly nine more days left for the tournament opener between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore. All the franchises have started their preparations ahead of another fascinating season.

Ahead of the season, Sunrisers Hyderabad have experienced a setback as their all-rounder from Australia, Mitchell Marsh has pulled out of the season. It is said that the Australian all-rounder cited bio-bubble fatigue as the reason for the big decision. The bio-bubble fatigue has become quite a common issue among players in the new normals of the game.

The Australian all-rounder missed the last year’s edition as well after playing a few initial games. Mitchell Marsh was ruled out of the season due to injury issues and the West Indies all-rounder Jason Holder was named as his replacement. Jason Holder will continue as a member this year too.

Meanwhile, the franchise named England right-handed batsman Jason Roy as the replacement for Mitchell Marsh. The English batsman is roped in for his base price of 2 cr INR. Jason Roy is expected to join the squad in the upcoming days as he is still in India.

Unfortunately, the right-handed batsman went unsold in the auction, despite the impressive performances in recent times. He did a good job in the recently concluded T20I and ODI series against India.
