The home side played with the same XI as the first match. The likes of Mohammad Saifuddin, Taskin Ahmed and newcomer Shoriful Islam are yet to get a game. All-rounders Afif Hossain and Mahedi Hasan are also waiting for their chances.

“It was nice to spend some time in the middle. There is a lot of hunger in the dressing room, and there are people breaking the door down like Saif and Taskin. Good, healthy competition in the dressing room and they’re working really hard in the nets, so no complaints,” Tamim said at the post-match presentation.

“Everyone should get a chance to play, even the ones who aren’t playing now can perform really well and you’ll see some changes in the final game, so that’s not a worry at all.”

Hasan Mahmud, who made his debut in the series opener, has been impressive. He has take four wickets in the two matches so far.

Soumya Sarkar, who is slotted to bat at number seven, has not done much in the series. No.3 Najmul Hossain Shanto failed to capitalize on opportunities.
