Tendulkar extends his support to McGrath Foundation



Former Indian right-handed batsman Sachin Tendulkar extended his support by donating a signed Test jersey of him for the Pink Test Auction of McGrath Foundation.

It is all set for the third Test between Australia and India at Sydney Cricket Ground. The Test is also acknowledged as the Pink Test. The Pink Test program is conducted as extending support to the McGrath Foundation maintained by former Australian fast bowler Glenn McGrath.

The former fast bowler runs the charity organization in order to extend support to people who are fighting against cancer. The foundation was established in remembrance of McGrath’s wife Jane McGrath. Jane McGrath battled with cancer in her last stage and unfortunately, the fast bowler had to lose his wife.

As a fundraising program for the trust, former Aussie cricketer conducts Pink Test Auction every year, collaborating with Cricket Australia, For this year’s auction, former Indian right-handed batsman Sachin Tendulkar extended his support by giving a signed Test jersey of him for the auction.

“Happy to lend my support to @McGrathFdn’s noble efforts during the #PinkTest to help patients dealing with breast cancer. It was wonderful meeting Glenn McGrath after long. My best wishes to him, his team & especially the nurses who are the backbone of this initiative,” Tendulkar revealed through his official Twitter account.

This time due to the pandemic situation, the auction is held online. Already the auction process has started and it will go until the 11th of January. The auction also includes the signed Pink caps and Test jerseys of players from both countries, which is the regular custom of the auction. Apart from this, a cricket ball signed by Sachin Tendulkar is also in the auction.
