Virat Kohli backs Narendra Modi’s Janata Curfew


India skipper Virat Kohli has lauded and backed the safety norms put in place by the country’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi amid the novel coronavirus outbreak, and urged all the citizens to follow them.

He also praised the medical professionals in India and around the globe for all the efforts they are putting in to combat the COVID-19.

Be alert, attentive and aware to combat the threat posed by Covid 19. We, as responsible citizens, need to adhere to the norms put in place for our safety as announced by our Honourable Prime Minister Shri @NarendraModi ji. #IndiaFightsCorona,” said the Team India captain in a tweet on Thursday (March 19).

Earlier on the day, Narendra Modi had appealed to the Indian citizens to observe a “Janata curfew” on Sunday (March 22), which is to stay home from 7 am to 9 pm as a test run for social distancing over the next few days to fight the spread of coronavirus.

In a different tweet, Kohli did not forget make a mention to all the medical professionals, who at the moment are the only saviours of mankind from the deadly desease.

“Also, special mention to all the medical professionals in the country and around the globe for all the efforts being put in to fight the #CoronaVirus. Let’s support them by taking care of ourselves and everybody around us by maintaining good personal hygiene. #IndiaFightsCorona,” said Kohli.
