Warner shaves head for a noble reason, nominates team-mates including one Indian player
In the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, cricketers are helping the people who are suffering in this crisis in various ways. Many players have already donated money and supplied foods to the poor people in order to make their life a bit better in these circumstances.
Meanwhile, Australia opener David Warner did something different. He shaved his head as a way to show appreciation for those fighting the COVID-19 pandemic around the world. Like many countries, Australia too has been affected by the virus, infecting more than 4000 people and claiming the lives of 19.
The left-handed opener has also nominated few of his team-mates and the Indian captain Virat Kohli to do the same. The Australia team-mates are Steve Smith, Pat Cummins, Joe Burns, Marcus Stoinis, and Adam Zampa.
Warner wrote on Instagram: “Been nominated to shave my head in support of those working on the frontline #Covid-19 here is a time-lapse. I think my debut was the last time I recall I’ve done this. Like it or not?”
It was not long ago when Kohli posted a video where he was getting a haircut from wife Anushka Sharma. As for Smith and Zampa, both are pretty fond of their hair and it will be interesting to see whether if/when they respond.
Warner earlier posted a video of playing tennis with his daughter and undergoing catching practice in the backyard of his house. He also said he is having a quality time with his family and asked everyone to do the same.
The 30-year old is expected to participate in the Indian Premier League (IPL) if it starts after April 15. However, he has withdrawn his name from the inaugural edition of ‘The Hundred’.
