His comments sparked a huge controversy and since then the netizens didn’t spare him as they launched a scathing attack on the former Indian player. Even Jadeja himself couldn’t control himself from keeping mum as he took to Twitter to hit out at Sanjay Manjrekar for his clueless remark.

The Indian all-rounder had asked Sanjay Manjrekar to stop his ‘verbal diarrhoea’. Now, the commentator once again started chipping with his opinions during India’s ongoing tour of Australia. The former Indian cricketer clarified that he has no issues with Ravindra Jadeja while adding that he doesn’t like players of Jadeja’s character.

To make things worse, Manjrekar also dragged Hardik Pandya in this matter. The commentator himself said that he won’t be even picking all-rounder Hardik Pandya in the playing XI owing to ‘illusionary value’.

“My selection and thoughts are based on a principle that I have learnt over the years: if you have specialists who can walk-in based on one discipline, you fill your team with those players,” Manjrekar was quoted as saying in The Hindu.

“I do not have a problem with Jadeja; I have a problem with his kind of cricketers in white-ball cricket. Even Hardik Pandya will not be in my team. They add illusionary value to the team. Of course, I have always rated Jadeja highly in the Test format,” he added.

However, Hardik Pandya wasn’t least bothered by Manjrekar’s comments. The all-rounder was named the player of the match for his match-winning 92 in the third and final ODI in Canberra. Ravindra Jadeja also showcased his mettle with the willow as he scored 66 runs to his name.

The duo were involved in a 150-run partnership for the sixth wicket that helped India post 302/5 in 50 overs. India bowled well and wwon the match by 13 runs.
