West Indies in quarantine after arriving in Dhaka today



West Indies national cricket team have landed in Dhaka to play three ODIs and two Tests against Bangladesh. The ODI and Test squads have come together on tour due to coronavirus pandemic. The Caribbeans have started a three-day quarantine after arriving in Bangladesh.

Visitors will have to maintain quarantine for seven days actually. The first three days of quarantine are a little more strict. If the coronavirus test is negative after 3 days, the cricketers will be able to practice using the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) facility on their own initiative. At the end of the seven-day quarantine, they will be able to take the help of local net bowlers and staff appointed by the BCB.

The flight carrying the cricketers landed at Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 10:10 a.m. on Sunday (January 10). After a long 10 months, a team came to play in Bangladesh. Earlier, the Zimbabwe national team visited Bangladesh in February.

Every member of the visiting team will have to do coronavirus test 5 times in the whole tour. The first test will be conducted today.

Jan 22: 2nd ODI, SBNCS, Mirpur

Jan 25: 3rd ODI, ZACS, Chattogram

Tests:

Jan 29-31: Three-day warm up, MA Aziz, Chattogram

Feb 3-7: 1st Test, ZACS, Chattogram

Feb 11-15: 2nd Test, SBNCS, Mirpur
