West Indies, Sri Lanka finish Test series drawn

West Indies and Sri Lanka have shared the two-match series 0-0 after the end of a rain-hit second Test at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, North Sound.

The series became the first since Bangladesh vs South Africa 2015 to end on 0-0.

Sri Lanka were set 377 runs to win, needing 348 on the final day. Rain interrupted the early phase of morning session twice which took off some time from the match.

Sri Lanka lost only two wickets in the day, finishing on 193/2 in 79 overs as the match remained undecided. Openers Lahiru Thirimanne and Dimuth Karunaratne put on 101 runs with the former making 114-ball 39 runs.

Skipper Karunaratne got his way to fifty – 75 off 176 balls with 9 fours. One down batsman Oshada Fernando stayed unbeaten on 66 runs from 119 balls. Dinesh Chandimal batted 66 balls for his unbeaten 10 runs.

Kraigg Brathwaite, the West Indies captain, was the player of the match for making 126 and 85 runs in this Test. Suranga Lakmal bagged the player of the series honour.

West Indies are done with the World Test Championship, finishing with three wins including a 2-0 against Bangladesh (away).

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka will return home to face Bangladesh in two Tests.
